March/Hodge Automotive was founded in May of 1998 when Tony March and Ernest Hodge decided to combine efforts in order to expand from two small businesses into one larger and more opportunistic venture. The result became one of the largest privately owned dealership companies in the country. With headquarters in Hartford, Connecticut, the company began expanding well into the southeastern United States. Today, March/Hodge Automotive owns Heritage Automotive in Georgia, Rockland Automotive in New York, and a number of dealerships in Maryland and Massachusetts. March/Hodge is also a minority owner of Montrose Westside Automotive in Cleveland, Ohio.
When the company was founded in 1998, Tony and Ernest envisioned a company that would represent the business and its manufacturers with unwavering excellence and integrity. In order to achieve this, they decided to adhere to three founding principles: strive towards 100% customer satisfaction, provide an environment that promotes excellent employee relations, and to support the communities in which they reside.

By implementing professional sales techniques, quality service, and fair and courteous treatment of all customers, Tony and Ernest's dream of providing unwavering excellence for their customers became a reality.

When March/Hodge decided they wanted to build a working environment that promotes excellent employee relations, they were guided by one major principle: employees cannot deliver high quality services to their customers if they do not receive high quality treatment within the organization. March/Hodge employees are recognized for their individual ideas as well as their teamwork. In addition, they are rewarded for outstanding effort and results through bonus and commission programs.
Lastly, March/Hodge believes strongly in giving back to their community and feels privileged that they are been able to do so. Over the past 10 years, they have participated and established many community service activities such as the 2000 Greater Hartford Open PGA Tournament in which $1.4 million dollars was raised for local Hartford charities as well as the Hartford Construction Job Initiative. This initiative helped train over 450 disadvantaged and low income Hartford residents in the construction field. In addition, Mr. Hodge still serves on the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce as well as many other organizations and committees.
